I am truly sorry that the world has lost you.
Your therapy changed my life ! your wisdom, kindness and generosity was amazing. you were so beautiful and kind ,

It was with great sadness that I heard of the sudden death of Sian. She made the most amazing contribution to the life blood of Trauma Aid UK. She will be deeply missed.

My very deepest sympathies with Sian’s family and friends in their grief at losing this lovely, tender hearted, generous spirited, yet hugely pragmatic and funny woman. We are all so much the poorer for her loss.
I remain profoundly shocked and sad to hear of her sudden death. Sian introduced me, as she did so many therapists, to EMDR via a Sussex Counselling seminar. Several years later she supported me through the EMDR qualifying process, acting as mentor, guide and supervisor. To my delight, she later agreed to become my regular clinical supervisor, a role she fulfilled with the utmost professionalism, while retaining her wonderful humanity. I feel richly blessed to have known her.

Heavy loss the whole world lost the great professor Sian and I still remember the first day in training on EMDR it was wonderful and the source of giving science gratitude to what you taught me to become able to help many in the treatment of shocks and the professor Sian will remain alive in my memory forever

We are all devastated by this very sad news, with Sian’s passing the EMDR community has suffered a huge loss. Sian was one of the founding members of EMDR UK and also the founder member and president of TAUK which she fought hard to establish. This was not always an easy path for her but her determination saw it through. Not only was Sian an inspiring teacher but she was also a caring and compassionate psychotherapist. We give thanks for her life and work and trust that the impact of her vision, leadership, wisdom, kindness and generosity will live on in the EMDR community and beyond for many years to come.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Sian’s passing. She was (and will remain) such an inspirational person who changed the lives of so many. It has been a privilege to know and work with her. I was shocked and saddened to hear this surprising news about a dear and greatly respected and admired colleague. Personally, on a couple of occasions she knew what support I needed at a time of need, even when I wasn’t aware of it myself, and did so with such touching humanity and grace, without taking anything for herself.
Sian once said, at the passing of Francine Shapiro, words that ring true for Sian herself. Edited a little, I repeat them here:

“She was a true visionary and humanitarian and inspiration for Humanitarian Assistance Programmes and Trauma Aid organisations. This movement has taken EMDR to so many traumatised places in the world and healed the suffering of so many people. Sian started doing this work such a long time ago and she made sure that her insight and the gift of EMDR spread throughout the world in this way. How many lives she has touched….. and what a legacy she has left.

I am sure that every day in the work the EMDR Community does throughout the globe, we will carry on her good work and that the impact of her life will live on through us all. In grateful remembrance… “

I was deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Sian, who was such an inspiration to so many of us. I will always be particularly grateful to Sian for so generously providing me with the opportunity to train as an EMDR Facilitator, for her warmth, kindness, encouragement and humour. I had known Sian from the mid 80s and regarded her as one my closest friends. Like others I did not know the full extent of her work that has had such a major impact on so many. She was very modest about her own achievements and I wish I’d talked to her more about her work. She was always there to offer support and words of wisdom. I still can’t believe she is gone.

Sian was a good friend for over 30 years. We met through teaching English in Brighton. It’s only in the past few weeks that I have learned just how much Sian achieved through her EMDR work. She has left a remarkable legacy.

I am sat here weeping this morning as I read the outpouring of love, gratitude and appreciation for Sian.

I was always aware of the wonderful work she did and of all the lives she touched but never really to this extent. I wish I’d asked her more, gained more from her knowledge and wisdom. We always think we have more time. And we never really know.

Me and my family are still incredibly shocked and saddened, she left us a mere two weeks ago. These things take time. They take all the time they need.

I am forever grateful for Sian for being such a huge part of my life and for all the ways she loved, and supported me. And for the gifts, the company, the joy and adventures and the love she’s shared and given my Dad. The loss of her physical presence in our life’s, particularly as my little boy grows will be huge. But she’ll always, always be with us.

I was shocked and so sad to hear of Sian’s untimely death. I have known her over many years as a woman dedicated to service and healing. She will be missed. My heart and prayers go to her family and our colleagues in the UK.

Sian was such an inspiration to so many people in her life and she will leave behind a lasting legacy of all her amazing hard work in all the different areas of her life. The light within her will never die as it lives on in everyone that she ever met and who they subsequently meet. I didn’t know Sian well but feel very priveledged to have been taught by her. It feels important to reach out to this group and honour her as we had shared connections with her, and each other, on our EMDR journeys. I was so shocked and saddened to hear from Trauma Aid of Sian being ‘very poorly’ and then passing. I think it was so beautiful that they let us know she was ill and set up the meditations to connect us and support her. I was babysitting on the Monday so I joined the meditation, but I did not have my camera on incase I was interrupted, but it felt so important to be there.
What a woman she has given so much to so many across the globe by her work and by being her. I think her loss will be significant to many. I feel we all carry her essence in the EMDR work we do and carry on what she facilitated. RIP

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my Trainer and Supervisor Sian. She was inspirational, insightful, generous and kind. Her training but also later her supervision was always provided with such a calm and reflective presence whether in person or online. She helped me start my EMDR journey by giving me confidence to keep going and although I will continue this journey without her, all the knowledge, her wisdom and presence will always be with me as a source of comfort and inspiration. I rang to speak with Sian for my Supervision/consultancy to hear the news she had died two days earlier. Like so many, Sian had been in my EMDR life and work, from 2007 onwards. I first met her in my training from Alex Richman. She followed my journey and I hers. The loss is huge. She touched so many peoples lives in every aspect of her life. She has helped me throughout my EMDR journey of life. The gap she leaves is massive, it has been a priveledge to have known her. Loved by so many, God Bless her on her onward journey, till we meet again.

د. شان مورجان قدمت كثيرا العالم العربي بتحولها في مناسبات عدة الى الوطن العربي، وتدريبها العشرات او المئات من المعالجين النفسانيين، كما انها ساهمت في تدريب اوّل دفعة لنا بالجمعية في اطار عمل خيري انساني بحت، كما انها ادمجتنا مع الجمعية الاوروبية الانسانية لرعاية الصدمة، وكان الفضل الكبير في ذاك للدكتور وليد وكل الذين رافقوه.
